The leadership of the Montgomery County School System has been engaged in a series of multiple racist responses to the killings in Israel and Gaza. The statements have focused on only one community, and include harmful and violent content directed towards Palestinians and Arabs.

As context, an interfaith delegation, including two members of Peace Action Montgomery have been reaching out to MCPS for nearly 18 months regarding their discriminatory practices that target Arabs, Muslims and those that advocate for Palestinian human rights. While there words have attempted to placate us, the actions say otherwise.
This is not about students expressing racism against other students. It is about our school system expressing racism against their own student body.
Please send a note to the MCPS Superintendent and Board of Education expressing concern about their politicizing grief and compassion.
