Stop our school system’s partnership with a National Hate Group and its Islamophobic Training
The late Sheldon Adelson, known as “Trump’s Patron in Chief” and the Republican Party’s “Anti-Muslim Sugar Daddy”
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has promoted a new anti-Arab/Islamophobic hate training through the Israeli American Council (IAC).
So who is the IAC? Two words: Sheldon Adelson
About Sheldon Adelson
The late Sheldon Adelson was most familiarly known as “Trump’s Patron in Chief,” heavily bankrolling the former President’ campaign. But Adelson was also one the nation’s most prominent Islamophobes. He founded the IAC to be a more hardlined version of AIPAC (the Israeli Lobby) which he found too conciliatory.
About the IAC
The CEO was Trump’s “Czar” who helped launch the “Antisemitism Executive Order” to equate criticism of Israel as being anti-Semitic. Read the ACLU’s “We’ll see you in court” response to the order.
In the IAC’s Community advocacy resource packet, they assert that the following statements are “tropes”:
- Palestine is occupied.
- Israel’s occupation caused the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
- Israel is commiting genocide.
- Antizionism is different from antisemitism.
Help Stop this infiltration of hate in our schools
Send a letter to MCPS leadership and demand that they stop these hate-filled trainings. The email also calls out MCPS leadership for their unbalanced approach and refusal to meet with social justice groups. This unbalanced approach has cultivated an environment that allows hate organizations, like the IAC, to bring their racist trainings into our school system.
Hate doesn’t belong in MCPS.
